Waikiki Aquarium by: Nola
Today we went to the Waikiki Aquarium. It was really fun to look at all the sea creatures. First we went in to a tunnel and saw a lot of sea creatures. We even saw a sea horse and a monk seal. After the aquarium we went on a walk and saw all the statues along Waikiki Beach. Kumu Ian told us some legends about the area. Finally we went for a really quick swim.
Waikiki Aquarium and Beach Walk by: Alexander
On thursday we went to Waikiki Aquarium with the 6-8th graders. As soon as we got there it started to rain so we had to put our backpacks away. 3 things that I learned were that hermit crabs cant go out of the water for very long. Jellyfish are invertebrates and baby seahorses are almost microscopic. I had a fun time and I can't wait for next class

At the Waikiki aquarium there were Hawaiian monk seals, all different kinds of fish and sea urchins. I am pretty scared about wana because my brother stepped on one once and it got stuck in his foot, the same day I broke my hard. When we were looking at the wana I was touching it thought he glass saying, "Oh, hi wana you cannot hurt me!" The monk seal climbed onto the wall and it was so sad they were trying to get to each other through the gate that was separating them. There were also humuhumunukunukuapuaas there. They are really fast swimmers, if you try to touch them. They are also Hawaii's state fish. It was so much fun. Dahlia was my partner and we wrote down everything we saw. Then we ate snack and went swimming at Waikiki Beach. But only for like 20 minutes.
My Trip to Hanauma Bay by: Megan
On the bus ride I was playing with my snorkel then when we got there it was raining so hard, we all got soaked. When we got inside it stopped raining and we were able to learn about the different fish in the bay. We went down to the beach and it started raining again. While we were snorkeling we saw a lot of fish one was a humuhumunukunukuapuaa. After we were snorkeling for a while I went to build a sandcastle. My wall was really strong except when the waves kind of splashed over and the whole castle tumbled down. Then we had to quickly change and get on the bus.
Hanauma Bay by: Koofrey
We went to Hanauma Bay on Friday. It was fun and I learned a lot about the ocean and its creatures, like seals, sea urchins and crabs. It was really cool because I got to see some coral. In all it was fun because I got to snorkel with Conroy and my mom.
Marine Education Training Center by: Calla
The field trip to the Marine Education Center was awesome! My favorite part of the day was taking a tour around the Hikianalia. Hikianalia is the sister of Hoku'lea. I think I would rather travel on Hikianalia than Hoku'lea. A reason why is because there is an actual toilet on board. The bunk rooms aren't very big and the kitchen isn't either. But the bathroom was normal sized. Our guide was named Aunty Diane. She knew a lot about the Hikianalia. I had a great time at the Marine Education Training Center.
Marine Education by: Conroy
The Marine Education Training Center was fun because we got to experience what the Hawaiians did. My favorite station was when we tied the knots. We got to learn about tying and making shapes. The canoe was about exploring what the Hawaiians did on the canoe. The canoe was called Hikianalia. We also learned about the star compass. It was about weather on Hawaii.
